Water bottles

Are aboutwater's bottles sustainable?

Yes, all our water bottles (Tritan water bottles, glass bottles and stainless steel bottles) are free from BPA, BPS, plasticisers and other harmful substances and chemicals. They are suitable for contact with drinks and tested in accordance with applicable food safety regulations. Upon request, we are happy to send you a declaration of conformity for your chosen water bottles.

Where are aboutwater's bottles manufactured?

We value transparency: Our Kavodrink Tritan water bottles are made in Germany and Austria.

We source our glass bottles and stainless steel bottles from a long-standing and trusted supplier in Asia. Of course, we would also prefer to source our products entirely from Europe. However, there are currently no suppliers in Europe that offer comparable quality combined with a similar price point.

We constantly monitor the market and regularly review European alternatives. At the same time, we apply clear requirements for quality, reliability, and responsible collaboration when purchasing. Through appropriate guidelines and our procurement policy, we strive to keep our carbon footprint within a reasonable range and – wherever possible – to enforce compliance and sustainability requirements with our suppliers.

In addition, we continuously develop our corporate sustainability management, including as part of our EcoVadis commitment.

How robust are aboutwater's bottles?

Our water bottles are particularly robust and durable for everyday use. Tritan and stainless steel bottles are shatterproof, while our glass bottles made of borosilicate glass are highly resistant and suitable for everyday use, though not unbreakable. Especially compared to standard glass or single-use plastic, our water bottles are very durable because they are made from specially selected, high-quality materials such as Tritan (our Kavodrink Classic bottles & Kavodrink Premium bottle), borosilicate glass (our Slim & Wideneck bottles & tea bottles), and stainless steel (stainless steel bottles).

How robust are aboutwater glass bottles and what does the design contribute to this?

Our glass bottles rely on intelligent design and targeted material distribution. The deliberately slim base (1.2–1.5 mm) offers exceptionally high stability and everyday practicality thanks to optimized material tension – while also reducing weight.

This design was developed together with our manufacturer and has proven itself in practice many times over, as it is proven to increase durability. It enables long-term use – in the office, in hospitality, or in educational institutions – and represents a conscious combination of functionality, design, and sustainability.

What makes the base of aboutwater glass bottles special?

Less is more: The deliberately slim base of our glass bottles reduces stress in the material, ensuring a particularly durable glass structure. At the same time, the lightweight design allows for resource-efficient manufacturing, more efficient shipping, and comfortable handling in everyday life.

Design meets function – the delicate base gives the bottle an elegant, modern look and stands for quality with responsibility.

Are aboutwater bottles sustainable?

Yes. All our water bottles are designed as durable reusable solutions. Because our water bottles are robust and long-lasting, can be reused over a long period, and are recyclable depending on the material, they represent a sustainable alternative to single-use plastics or single-use bottles. Find out more about sustainability.

Are the bottles leak-proof?

Yes. All our bottles are leak-proof.

The caps of the glass bottles, Kavodrink Premium bottles, and stainless steel bottles also feature an integrated sealing ring, which makes the bottles leak-proof even for carbonated drinks. For the Kavodrink Classic, we recommend the sports cap or the 2K premium cap for carbonated drinks.

How can a plastic bottle, specifically Tritan, be environmentally friendly?

Not all plastic is the same. Our Tritan water bottles are robust, durable, high-quality reusable bottles that are proven to be more sustainable than single-use bottles. The longer you reuse the bottles, the more sustainable they become. When Tritan is disposed of correctly, the material can be recycled, which helps to reuse resources and support a circular economy.

How long do the water bottles last?

In general, all our water bottles are extremely durable. Their exact lifespan depends entirely on how they are handled and cleaned. The more regularly and gently you clean the water bottles, the longer you will enjoy using them. Direct sunlight and dropping them from a great height should be avoided as much as possible.

Are the water bottles also suitable for carbonated drinks?

Our glass bottles, Kavodrink Premium bottles and stainless steel bottles already feature an integrated sealing ring, making them ideal for carbonated drinks too. If you would also like to use our Kavodrink Classic bottles for carbonated drinks, we recommend ordering the new sports cap or the 2K premium cap.

Can the water bottles be filled with cold and warm drinks?

Yes, you can fill all our water bottles with both cold and warm drinks. The materials we use to make our water bottles are heat-resistant up to 100 degrees. Our tea bottles with an integrated tea strainer and reinforced base are particularly ideal for teas and hot drinks.

Our stainless steel bottles are true thermal bottles. Thanks to double-walled insulation, they reliably keep hot drinks like coffee or tea warm and cold drinks refreshingly cool – for hours. The high-quality stainless steel design not only ensures excellent temperature retention, but is also 100% leak-proof – even with carbonated drinks.

What are the packaging units for the water bottles?

What materials does aboutwater offer for water bottles?

Which water bottle is suitable for which area of use?

Tritan is particularly suitable for schools, sports, healthcare and anywhere else where a low weight and shatterproof design are important. Borosilicate glass is ideal for high-end applications in offices, meeting rooms, hotels and restaurants. Stainless steel is particularly well suited for use on the go, for thermal functions, and for long-lasting brand presentations using print or engraving.

Printing

What printing method is used?

To print your logo or design on our water bottles, we primarily use digital printing on our in-house printing machine, operated by our own print experts. This allows us to handle many projects flexibly, efficiently and to a high standard of quality.

In addition, we offer screen printing and laser engraving as two further high-quality printing methods. You are welcome to specify your preferred printing technique when making your enquiry. If no specific technique is specified, we will choose the most effective and cost-saving printing solution for you – tailored to the product, design and project scope.

Laser processing or engraving is used for caps and closures.

Are printed bottles dishwasher safe?

Yes, printed water bottles and the prints on them are dishwasher safe and can be washed in standard dishwashers. However, we recommend washing them gently either by hand or at a low temperature to make the print last as long as possible.

Cleaning

What is the best way to clean the water bottles?

To keep your water bottles hygienically clean, it’s important to wash them regularly. Our water bottles—whether printed or unprinted—can be washed in the dishwasher. To ensure the longest possible lifespan for both the bottle and the print, we also recommend gentle hand washing.

We recommend washing your Kavodrink bottles by hand on a regular basis. If you use a sealing ring for carbonated beverages, it should also be cleaned regularly.

Please clean the caps of our glass bottles by hand with a little dish soap and a soft cloth; do not put them in the dishwasher. The silicone ring inside can be removed and cleaned separately.
